The principles behind every page of Straight Daily.
Accuracy and sourcing
Every story in the daily record rests on at least one published report. Features name their sources at the end of the text, and claims we could not check are attributed to whoever made them.
Impartiality
Straight Daily carries the whole daily record: every subject, every region. The lead stories are ordered by how widely an event is reported and read, never by opinion.
Bylines
Features carry the name of their author and are approved by the editor before publication. Short entries in the daily record are not signed.
No payment for coverage
We accept no advertising, sponsorship, gifts or favours in return for coverage, and we do not publish press releases as news.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we put it right. A corrected feature shows the date it was updated.
