Two years after posting his first videos on TikTok, the Germany-based entertainer known as tahalivestreams has more than half a million followers across four platforms.
Taha, who uses the same name on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Twitch, posts short comedy clips and hosts livestreams. His TikTok account had 426,200 followers and 32.3 million likes, according to his public profile. He had a further 60,300 followers on Instagram, 15,000 subscribers on YouTube and 920 followers on Twitch.
The combined figure counts follows rather than people, as some fans follow him on more than one platform.
Aura farming
Much of his growth this year has come from aura farming, a trend Taha started. In the videos, people film themselves looking calm and self-assured, often while walking into a room, and viewers judge their “aura” in the comments.
By his count, videos connected with the trend have been viewed close to a billion times.
Beyond short clips
Taha also runs Taha SMP, a Minecraft server for his followers, and has posted 69 videos on YouTube.
His audience is still concentrated on TikTok, which accounts for more than four in five of his follows. How much of it he can take to longer formats such as YouTube and Twitch is likely to shape his next steps.
